The Broadacre House project is coming to an end.
Unfortunately Northern Creative Solutions has received formal six-months’ notice from the Broadacre House landlords. This means we need to return an empty Broadacre House to them by 1 December 2017.
We are so very disappointed to share this news but, as a meanwhile project – using an empty building until it was needed for commercial use – we all knew that we would need to leave one day.
Our facilities will still be available for meetings and events until Friday 3 November 2017. We hope the use of Broadacre House will continue until then. Tenant organisations will also be moving out by 3 November, and the TURF co-working space will end on the same day.
Celebrating what we’ve achieved together.
Broadacre House has always been a collaborative space: from our beneficiaries – tenant organisations and meeting room users – to the landlords and their representatives; from the council to the other organisations and people who have supported us. We have all worked together to make Broadacre House possible.
We want to celebrate all that we have achieved together. As Dr Seuss said: Don’t cry because it’s over. Smile because it’s happened.
We are planning a programme of events in the coming months and will share what’s happening and when.
We’re exploring options for new spaces, both meanwhile and more permanent, and will share our progress on the website and via our mailing list. If you’d like to join our mailing list please sign up.
We are committed to our charity’s mission to create thriving community spaces for positive social change, creativity and collaboration, and to provide affordable, good quality spaces for active citizens and the voluntary, charity and social enterprise sector in the north east.
If you have any questions for us about what’s happening with Broadacre House, please get in touch with Siobhan, Broadacre House’s impact and communications officer, by email or call 0191 222 0146.
